Founded in 1998 by 15 radiologists from the Quebec region, IRM Québec was the first magnetic resonance imaging private clinic in the Old Capital.

In 2002, to better serve its patients, IRM Québec purchased a second MRI unit and thus became the first private clinic in Canada to have two magnetic resonance imaging units in the same clinic.

Since September 2009, IRM Québec, now counting on the expertise of 17 radiologists, is still the pioneer in the province with its 3 Tesla MRI unit. The 3 Tesla is the best, most state of the art equipment available today in RMI.

IRM Québec thus becomes the only clinic in Canada to equip itself with two 3 Tesla units.

Breast MRI

Throughout the province, IRM Québec is currently the only one offering the 3 Tesla unit for breast magnetic resonance imaging, making IRM Québec a leader in magnetic resonance imaging in the Province of Quebec.

The Verio 3 Tesla 70 cm installed at Place de la Cité is equipped with a Sentinelle breast coils allowing extensive and comprehensive examination for screening, diagnosis, monitoring and clinical research for breast cancer.

IRM Québec is the only clinic offering magnetic resonance imaging for breast screening and evaluation of breast cancer and also for the assessment of silicone breast implants in the Quebec City region.

CSST and SAAQ

IRM Québec’s operators/receptionists are fully aware of the procedure to follow and take care of all the steps, including the request for an exam authorization with the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail du Québec or the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec, for you.

All fees are fully covered by the CSST and the SAAQ as if you pass the exam at the hospital even if you are in a private clinic and this, with all services and benefits of a private clinic.
